PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS/CLASSES!
I have had several requests on holding some type of photography class. I can defiantly see something happening in the near future.
First I want to start off saying, Every photographer is different and this is MY advice. I have taken photography classes. In addition to, studying, and taking Photoshop classes. I have been using the programs, including Lightroom, since 2011. So, with that being said...
My biggest advice is to learn manual on your camera and then get to know, not only Lightroom, but Photoshop. I STRONGLY believe photoshop is more used than Lightroom. Don’t Rely on the presets you buy. I suggest making your own. Check out youtube, find your style. Mine is more dark and “golden”. It’s not a filter on Instagram, remember that. Remember certain colors stick out more than others. Learn Photoshop so you can take out any imperfections because Lightroom won’t do that for you at least not to the highest perfection.
Took me about a year and a half to really know my camera and I’m still, TO THIS DAY, trying to figure things out and why things don’t work in my favor when taking pictures.
APERTURE | SHUTTER SPEED | ISO LEARN HOW THEY WORK TOGETHER.
IT IS confusing but once you know what everything means it’ll make sense. REMEMBER GRAIN. Anything (depending if you have a DSLR or mirrorless) over ISO 800 gets grainy. Indoors? Use (not your camera flash) an attached flash. Learn how to point it and will you rarely ever point that thing to blind your subject.
After you learn your camera then I’d suggest learning composition. There’s “rules” when taking photos and where your subject should lie. Once that’s all established then I’d say learn Lightroom then photoshop.
*I suggest a DSLR first.
You wont regret it…Unless you don’t take the time to learn, then you will.
STAY AWAY
From allowing your clients to wear strips, close strips. BOLD colors. REDS. SAY GOODBYE TO REDS.
